the Annual Timberlake Memorial Day Parade is this Saturday May
19th – I know Memorial Day isn’t until the following
weekend but Timberlake is getting the jump.  This is a huge
parade with cars, motorcycles, groups, entertainment, games and more.
Parade starts at 10AM in downtown Timberlake which is near Brooks
Store.  If you’ve never been, great weather this weekend should
make it easy to come out and enjoy. Every
Thought About Having a Remote Controlled Boat Lift?  Dock Demo
          Day: Sat May 26th from 10am to 4pm A
Computerized Remote Controlled Boat Lift Switch has been designed,
patented and is being built by a local Hyco Lake resident, Don Legun.
He will be at his dock doing demonstrations, providing information and
taking orders on this new product over the Memorial Day weekend. The
switch is a replacement for the dock’s manual switch and provides
remote operation with a key FOB that can be attached to your boat key
ring.  It has programmable stops, senses changing water heights
and even has a remote light switch so that you can turn your dock
lights on from your boat or house.   To
experience a demonstration stop by his dock on Sat. May 26th
from 10am to 4pm.  A backup weather date will be Mon. May 28th
from 10am to 2pm.  For a one on one appointment, street
directions or to get a phone number for more information, email don
          at: don@mysideofdepression.com Click

by Habitat for Humanity. Please come out and support this very
worthwhile organization. Open to everyone. $2 donation for breakfast! PERSONAL
          FAVORITE –  It’s
spider season again as we uncover our lawn furniture and get the boat
docks washed down.  The best way to kill those spiders and other
bugs I’ve found is with Suspend SC.  Try it and I think
          you’ll be happy to! http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/suspend-sc-p-40.html AT&T
is scheduled to add service in the Semora/VIR Track area soon as a new
cell tower has been erected in Caswell County just off of Hwy 57
between Semora and Milton on the left.  I don’t have an
in-service data as yet but this will certainly improve cellular
coverage in the VIR area – as long as you are an AT&T customer! If
you live in the northern sections of Person County and do not get good
coverage with Verizon, then fill out their form at this link: https://survey.verizonwireless.com/vzwsurvey/ ADVISORY
          –  Be
aware that there have been several thefts around Hyco Lake lately.
Be sure to secure your property with alarms, signage and video
surveillance as homes that appear empty or are remotely located are
          inviting for thieves. ADVERTISER

           LAKE
          LEVEL – You
can always get real-time data on the www.hycolake.com
web site from USGS or click
here.  The USGS webpage now shows you the elevation above sea
level.  410.5’ is normal level.  You can now get a text
message or email if the lake level is at a parameter you set.
I’ve set my notice to occur at 411.5 feet which is 1 foot above
normal.  This would be the time I need to remove stuff on the
dock and make sure the boats are raised high enough to keep them on
the lifts!  See the link on the USGS site or click
          here. Welcome
