Hyco Lake Public Area and Camp Sites

PARK INFORMATION:
The park area includes public boat ramps, swimming areas, rental cabins,
picnic areas, shelters, RV parking, natural area walking trail, boat/RV storage
area and community house. The recreational park includes approx. 65 acres.
The park is managed by the Person-Caswell Lake Authority (PCLA). The mailing

The rangers are located in the ranger station located at the boat ramps.
REGISTRATION:
The Person-Caswell Lake Authority does not take reservations for camping, but
operates on a first come first serve basis. When selecting a site, make
sure the chosen site is unoccupied. A Ranger will come by, issue you a
camping permit, and answer any questions you may have. The campground gate
closes at 11:00 P.M. and opens at 7:00 A.M. Check out time is 2:00P.M.
RATES:
Our rates are based on a family or group of 4 adults and 2 children using one
campsite. Others in the group will be charged $4.00 per night.
Children 3 years old and younger are free. One trailer or two tents is allowed
per site, two trailers will need two sites.
Primitive sites - $15/night
30 Amp sites - $20/night $400/month
50 Amp sites - $25/night $525/month
RULES:
The Person-Caswell Lake Authority is a family campground and the rules given
are designated to protect all persons using the facility.
DAY GUEST:
Day guest must pay the gate fee of $3.00 for weekdays, and $5.00 for
weekends and holidays, to enter the park and spend the day with a camper. If
guests should decide to camp or stay overnight with the existing camper, consult
the ranger.
PETS:
Dogs, cats and other pets are allowed only if leashed at all times and never
left unattended. It is the responsibility of the owners to clean up after their
pets. All bathhouses and swim areas are off limits for pets.
SWIMMING:
Swimming is available to campers at their own risk in the designated
swimming area. No swimming is allowed after dark. Swim area closes at sunset.
PICNIC:
Picnic shelters are available be reservation only for family groups or
reunions. There is no charge for the use of the shelters, but gate fees apply.
Community building available for rent throughout the year. Rates are $125
from 8 A.M. to 3 P.M. and $150 from 4 P.M. to 11 P.M.. All day rental is
$275 - a security deposit is required and returned within 10 days or rental if
there is no damage. Clean-up is available for $40.

CABINS:
Cabins are available for rent near the bathhouse and swim area. The
cabins rent for $50/night. A security fee of $50 is required. Check in/out
times are: 12:00/11:00. The cabins have heat, air conditioning and a
refrigerator. No running water or bath facilities are available in the
cabins. The cabins can sleep up to 6 people with most having a full size
bed and two bunk beds. Call the park ranger for more information at: (336)

NATURE TRAIL:
The nature trail is located adjacent to the parking area for boat trailers.
INTERNET ACCESS:
Free WiFi is available in the cabin area, swimming area and to the camp
sites near the maintenance building. Ask the Ranger for the
password. To determine if you are in range, perform a "site
survey" or search for available wireless networks on your laptop. If
you are within range, you should see ESIHycoNet-5972433 available.
STORAGE:
Storage for your boat or camper is available on site. Please ask the
ranger for information. The storage area is near the boat launch area.
QUIET TIME:
Quiet time is from the hours of 10:00 P.M. until 7:00 A.M.
PARENTS:
The actions and safety of your children are always your responsibility.
CONSERVATION:
Knowledgeable campers never chop or drive nails into trees. Please
preserve our campsites and keep clean
SUPPLIES:
Hyco Lake Marina is located within walking distance of the campground and
carries a complete supply of camping and food supplies. Lakeside Restaurant is
also open Tuesday-Sunday.
LAKE PERMIT
Daily or yearly lake permits are required to launch your boat. The daily
permit is $15 and $45 for a yearly permit. The permits are issued at the
Ranger's station.
