Dr. Mickey Efird is filling in as the
Interim minister at Roxboro Presbyterian Church. He is a great
teacher as he retired from Duke Divinity School. I love to hear him
speak and I think you would to. Dr. Efird's sermons are recorded and
put on our web site usually every Monday. There are a few now
online since he started preaching on May 22. If we don't make
church, I usually listen to them online at: http://www.roxboropresbyterian.org/media/
You are also welcome to come to hear Dr. Efird every Sunday. For
more info about Roxboro Presbyterian Church, check the web site: www.roxboropresbyterian.org
In July and August, the Sunday morning services will be at
10 AM. Hope to see you there!
PERSONAL FAVORITE – Well it
is that time of year when we all need to get rid of spiders,
ants and other crawly bugs! I’ve found a commercial product
works well at the lake. It is Suspend SC and can be purchased
online at Amazon.com. Just search for Suspend SC and it will
show you all the products available or Click
Here. It can be used inside or outside and is
safe around pets.
ADVISORY – I understand that the NC
Wildlife Officers now have a new method of checking boaters for
alcohol so please do not drink and drive.
Also, if you are an AT&T Wireless customer
and have noticed some outages on the Hyco Lake tower and called
AT&T, you may have had a problem reporting the problem in that
AT&T can’t locate our tower. The technician will use your
zip code to look for towers within about 3 miles so if you give them
the Roxboro, Leasburg or Semora zip code, they may not find the tower.
The tower site is identified as: Site ID NC273103 So
when you call, give them the site ID and they will look to see if
there are problems. Many times they’ll just note the call and
after several calls may then investigate further. If more people
give them the Site ID then maybe they will look into it sooner. Call 800-331-0500
I also understand that all the AT&T sites are to be upgraded soon
to the latest technology which should greatly enhance data speeds.
If you are a leaseholder on Hyco Lake, you should
have received a notice that your dock plate needs to be up by June
1, 2011. This notice went to all leaseholders so don’t
panic if yours is up! If yours is not up, then after June 1st
your dock will be recorded and then if the plate is not up by July 1,
2011 you will be assessed a penalty of $100 payable upon notice.
Whit Wyant of West
and Woodall volunteered to install these for you free some
time ago so there’s no excuse for not having them up. Whit is
willing to continue installing these but he can’t do it until after
June 1st due to schedule conflicts. If you want Whit
to help you out, contact him at West and Woodall by calling
336.583-9668
