PERSONAL FAVORITE –   Clay
Tuck says all I talk about under this heading is eating out so this
week I thought I would highlight something else!  We had a Pig
Picking for my niece Laura King who is getting married at the Mayo
Environmental and Education Facility at Mayo Park.  If you
haven’t been there, you should visit Mayo.  They have an
excellent facility and rent it out.  Everyone in attendance was
impressed with the scenic setting and very nice facility. It is
managed by Person County so you contact Parks and Rec. for rental.
Get those propane bottles filled for $12.97 at Southern
States from 5/27 – 5/30.  Get your coupon in the
          Courier=Times May 25th edition.
ADVISORY – The NC Wildlife Officers
are expected to be out in force this weekend on the lake.  If you
drink, be sure to have a designated driver or your fun may turn sour
real fast!  There were many complaints last year about the
frequency of “safety checks” made by the Wildlife Officers.
To help you remember everything you need prior to be stopped, you can
download and print this checklist form made just for Hyco.
If you are a leaseholder on Hyco Lake, you should
have received a notice that your dock plate needs to be up by June
1, 2011.  This notice went to all leaseholders so don’t
panic if yours is up!  If yours is not up, then after June 1st
your dock will be recorded and then if the plate is not up by July 1,
2011 you will be assessed a penalty of $100 payable upon notice.
          Whit Wyant of West
and Woodall volunteered to install these for you free some
time ago so there’s no excuse for not having them up.  Whit is
willing to continue installing these but he can’t do it until after
June 1st due to schedule conflicts.  If you want Whit
to help you out, contact him at West and Woodall by calling
          336.583-9668
We have one reader with a pontoon boat for
rent.  We get several inquiries each year from people
desiring to rent a pontoon boat for the week or weekend.  We also
added this to our database of services so you can search using
          “rental” on this page http://www.hycolake.com/ServiceListing.aspx
and you will get a list of all the rentals including this pontoon
          boat.
     $200.00 a day with a
          $400.00 deposit
      if rented for
the weekend it would equate to $150.00 a day
      call James
Pleasants at 336-234-9595 with all inquiries.
