LOCAL BUSINESS – There are several businesses offering Valentines Specials this weekend so be sure to take your Valentine out for dinner and maybe a movie.

Roxboro Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a LEADS meeting on Tuesday 2/15 at the Moose Lodge at 6:00.  This is a great way to introduce your company or to find out about other companies providing services in this area. PERSONAL FAVORITE – We’ve been eating lunch some at the Panini Café which is in Total Fitness Center on Semora Road.  They have breakfast and lunch and have some great soup and sandwich combos.  It’s an immaculately clean place and great food.

 

ADVISORY – Beginning 12/1/10 there are a few laws enacted you need to be aware of.  First, the “move over” law that applies to law enforcement vehicles now also applies to public utility vehicles so if you see Duke Energy working on the shoulder of the road, move over a lane or slow down – it’s the law!

Another law is that your license tag cannot have any of it covered up by a license frame.  I got behind a car yesterday with a Michael Jordan dealership frame and it was covering the “North Carolina” section of the tag.  This will get you a warning or ticket so look at your tags and make sure nothing is covered up!

LAKE LEVEL – You can always get real-time data on the www.hycolake.com web site from USGS or click here.  The lake level is back to normal.  The USGS webpage now shows you the elevation above sea level.  410.5’ is normal level.
