LOCAL BUSINESS Aunt Millie's in Milton
is now having Karaoke on Weds nights.  Bonnie and I have been
several times the last couple of months and they have some good local
talent.  We also have been getting the chef salad and cheesy
bread sticks along with beverages and splitting it because it is so
large.  Its hard to spend over $20 there for two people so
          come out a enjoy!

PERSONAL FAVORITE T&O Drug Store in
uptown Roxboro provides no-wait prescription filling.  If you go
to the big box or chain stores for your prescription and hate the
waiting in lines like I do, then go to T&O on Main Street.
Ronnie and the staff will insure your wait is minimal and on top of
that, they will advise you on ways to save money on that prescription.
I am amazed at the people who say that T&O works hard to keep the
cost of prescriptions low.  And, you can call ahead and have your
prescription ready when you get there.

ADVISORY Watch out for those stopped
school buses as there is a campaign on by law enforcement to step up
on violators of the flashing lights and stop sign.  It is a 5
point hit on your drivers license to pass a stopped school bus plus
unsafe to our children!  If you see the lights flashing, you have
          to stop.

PLANT INFO During this time of year,
you may hear loud noise from the plant early in the mornings.
This is a normal sound of safety or electromagnetic steam valves being
operated during startup of one or more of the generating units.
The steam lines are cleared out of any moisture before admitting steam
to the turbines to prevent damage to the turbines.  During this
time of year, the demand for power is low due to the mild temperatures
outside reducing heating load so the units are cycled off-line at
night for efficiency reasons.  The nuclear and hydro plants carry
can cover most of the load during the mild nights and weekends.
