It’s here today and Saturday. Friday Nov. 14 and Saturday Nov. 15  the Personality Festival in Uptown Roxboro.  See the flyer at this link for the schedule and all the rides, food and entertainment.  This year it is bigger and better than ever and has something for every age kid up to 99! 

The Castaway’s Band will be performing in Vesuvio’s II due to the weather starting at 7:00 Friday night.  This is a free event for a fantastic band so come out and let the band entertain you while visiting Club V2 inside Vesuvio’s II in Uptown Roxboro!  Also on Saturday night at Club V2, local favorite The Pizazz Band will perform so there is no reason to stay cooped up in the house this weekend! Many events also happening on Saturday along with info booths so check out the schedule.

COMMUNITY FUNCTIONS –  Roxboro Kiwanis Club is having their 54^th annual Pancake Jamboree on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Person High School Cafeteria.  Tickets still only $5 for all you can eat pancakes, sausage, beverage and trimmings.  This is always a well attended community function and all the proceeds go this year to furnishing the family waiting room in the newly renovated Person Memorial Hospital along with other local charities they have supported such as: DARE, Christian Help Center, Special Olympics, Headstart, 4-H, Boy Scouts, Key Club, Scholarships, Santa’s Helpers, Key Club, VIP and many other worthwhile charities.  What better way to get a great meal (or meals since they serve all day) and contribute toward  very worthwhile projects.  See a Kiwanis member or contact Leigh Woodall to have them deliver tickets to you!  Call (336)597-8850 or email Leigh at: lcwjr00@hotmail.com  This is a perfect way to recognize your employees so buy everyone a ticket!

 

Did you know that Hog Heaven donates lunch to the Christian Help Center every Tuesday to help feed the less fortunate? I think this speaks very well of Hog Heaven and their commitment to help others.  Please remember them when you are eating out or need food to take home or to give to others.  Also say a word of thanks to them for making this contribution to the Christian Help Center and our Community at large. The Christian Help Center needs and always can use the following: Peanut Butter, Jelly, Mustard, Mayonnaise, Ketchup, Sugar, Flour, Cooking Oil and canned meats.  Warm your heart by dropping some of these items off by the Christian Help Center on Depot Street.
