ENTERTAINMENT
- There is a special event at The Flaming Star on Tuesday
night – the Christmas Adam Party will have Jim Quick and
Coastline Band so come out early to get your Christmas started. Doors
open at 7 PM, Band begins at 8:30 PM. $15.00 per person. This is
a fund raising event for Person County Hospice, The Boys and Girls
Clubs of Person County and the NC Burn Center. Hip Pocket will be the
opening band at 8:15. There will be a DJ and the night will end with
Jim Quick and the Coastline Band.

COMMUNITY FUNCTIONS - The Annual
Roxboro Christmas Parade will occur on December 20th in
Uptown
Roxboro starting at 2:00 PM. Nashville
recording star Ray Scott from Semora will be the grand marshal and
sign autographs afterward at Dalton’s

Also, I know of several Churches having Christmas
Programs this Sunday. I attend Roxboro Presbyterian Church
and we are having a musical program this Sunday morning at 11:00.
Everyone is invited to this service which is always a great program by
very talented people. I also heard from Rev. Bill at Concord
Methodist and they are having their annual Christmas Program at
11:00 – everyone invited.
ADVISORY – Break-in and Robbery near lake –
quick thinking and observation helped solve a crime within a hour at
the lake. A local contractor observed someone throwing something
out of a car crossing the Kelly Brewer Road bridge and made a
description of the vehicle to the Person County Sheriff’s office
that resulted in 3 young men being arrested for robbery of an elderly
couple. It takes all of us staying alert to avert the increasing
crimes especially around Holidays and during economic down turns.

automated advisory via email if there is a registered sex offender in
your neighborhood and up to 5 miles. You can also search the
database for anyone located in Person County or anywhere else in N.C.

PERSONAL FAVORITE – Have you seen the house
with the synchronized music and lights in Person County??
Located off of 501 South turn onto the airport road (Cates Mill) and
then turn left onto Foxcroft and go all the way to the end where the
Cul-de-sac is. Turn off your lights and tune your FM radio to
hear the music timed with the light show. It’s worth the drive to
see and hear.
