ENTERTAINMENT - Clash of the Carts in Uptown Roxboro will occur next Saturday 4/26.  Come on up to Roxboro Saturday morning for free fun and entertainment at 9:30. Expect more entertainment than racing as these “run-whatcha-brung contraptions will make you laugh.  Eat at some of the fine local restaurants and then head to the lake!  See more info at: www.historicroxboro.com  Tricia’s Espresso will be offering free samples of Artisan-Roasted coffee from 8:30-10:30 so stop by and sample the Java.

VIR Raceway in Milton, NC. Rolex Bosch Engineering 250 racing all weekend.  This is the Grand-Am series which is a professional racing series. This is Big time racing and is an event that you will love to see. If you’ve never been to an event at VIR, this would be a good one to see.  See more information by clicking HERE.

Aunt Millie’s in Milton will have buffet lunch on Friday and Saturday to accommodate all the race fans this weekend.  Also, Bonnie and I were at Aunt Millie’s Tuesday night and talked to Gwen, the owner.  Gwen is offering a free scoop of any of her delicious ice cream with a large pizza order.  If you haven’t tried her pizza, then you are missing something you can’t get anywhere else so stop by and try it out.  Click HERE to print a coupon to get the free scoop of ice cream.  Good through June 1^st so click, print and cut it out now!

Boat Show at Mayo – Saturday May 10^th, there will be a boat show along with other water related activities at Mayo Lake camping area. This is a free show and food and beverage will be on site.  For more information, click HERE.  Starts at 10:00 AM

RESTAURANT NEWS – There will be a second Tokyo Grill opening inside the King Bee II Exxon which is on the “Hill” or at 631 S. Madison Blvd. Near Kimbrough’s Florist soon.  The Tokyo Grill at Southside is doing well so the owners have decided to open a grill in Roxboro.  Watch for the grand opening in the next week or so.  Booths are being installed so you can dine-in.

HYCO REVIEW – Heard of the Hyco Review??  This is a new magazine to be published by Piedmont Community College. “Hyco Review, an arts and literary magazine is an online arts and literary magazine published by Piedmont Community College. Designed to nurture area writers, artists, photographers and musicians, it will feature photographs, art, poetry, fiction, essays, music, audio, film and video and digital media. The inaugural Hyco Review will debut later this year. " per Bonnie Davis.
